What is Yogalates?

Yogalates brings together the best principles of Yoga and Pilates giving the benefits of flexibility, balance and mental well being that Yoga offers as well as the strength and posture enhancing benefits of Pilates.

This is a low impact exercise and each movement and pose has a range of stages so beginners can safely and successfully practice and improve.

What will it do for me?

Yogalates concentrates on strength, flexibility and postural alignment to improve core stability, enhance body shape and muscle tone.

Is it right for me?

Yogalates is a low impact exercise that is suitable for everyone aged 16 and over and all fitness levels – including anyone who has not exercised before.  Your instructor will help you work through each movement from the basic stage and gradually progressing.  If there any poses or movements that are not suitable for an individual an alternative exercise can be given.

However, if you have an ongoing medical condition or injury you should consult with your GP or medical practitioner before beginning a new exercise programme.

What should I wear?

You should wear comfortable, flexible clothes that let you move easily.  Avoid very baggy clothes and bear in mind you may get warm.  You wish to work out with barefeet – alternatively choose light, flexible footwear.

What else should I bring?

You don’t need to bring any equipment – just a water bottle to stay hydrated and towel.
